Becoming After Tobias

The journey continues

There are moments in life that feel less like an ending and more like a birth. Graduating from Tobias School of Art and Therapy was one of those moments for me. After years of study, artistic practice, clinical work, and inner transformation, I returned to Malaysia feeling as though I had been born again. Something essential had shifted within me. Yet graduation was never an arrival. It was a threshold. Since returning home, my work has continued to unfold as a quiet and meaningful path. It is a path that reaches into the community through art therapy and creative work, but it is equally a path that continues to shape my own inner life. The journey continues. And so does my becoming.

 A deeper path of learning

Since graduating, I have continued to deepen my studies in Anthroposophical Biography Work while nurturing my own artistic practice in a more soulful direction. Slowly, I have begun to experience the integration of three streams that have become inseparable in my life: art therapy, biography work, and my own artistic development. Together, they have opened a larger inner space within me—a space from which I can accompany others with greater presence, sensitivity, and trust. I have come to realise that the work is not only about learning methods or techniques. It is also about continually cultivating the person who is offering the work. Encountering the human being in a new way Through Anthroposophy, I encountered a way of understanding the human being that resonated deeply with questions I had carried for many years. Rather than seeing the human being only through a physical or psychological lens, I was invited to contemplate the human being as a being of body, soul, and spirit—continually developing through relationship with the Earth, with nature, with one another, and with the wider cosmos. As I studied, familiar questions returned, but with new depth. What is the human being? What does it mean for a human being to develop? How do thinking, feeling, and willing participate in our becoming? How are our physical, life, soul, and individual dimensions connected? What is our relationship with the Earth? And beyond the Earth, what is our relationship with the cosmos? I realised these were not new questions at all. They had been quietly living within me throughout my life as an artist and educator.

Finding language for what art already knew

For many years, art had given me experiences that I could feel but could not fully explain. Colour spoke. Form revealed something invisible. Nature became a teacher. Children showed me that creativity could nourish something much deeper than skill alone. Through Rudolf Steiner's work, I found language for many of those intuitions. I began to see art, colour, human development, and nature as part of one living relationship, each illuminating the other. At the same time, I discovered how much I still do not understand. And so I continue to study.

Becoming

For me, Anthroposophy is not a collection of answers that I have mastered. It is a living field of inquiry that continually invites me to observe more carefully, listen more deeply, and remain open to the mystery of the human being. Perhaps this is what becoming means. Not arriving at certainty. But continuing to learn. Continuing to create. Continuing to be transformed. And continuing to walk this path with humility, curiosity, and gratitude. The journey continues. And so does my becoming.

Reflection of my gratitude 🙏🏻

‘I am the light of my soul’

With gratitude I started my first day of studying with Tobias School Of Art and Theraphy yesterday, via Zoom. Yay!!! Dream comes true after 24 years.
It took me years to eventually walk on this path. Life never easy for me, divorced and separations in relationships, work hard to survive, bring up two boys.... all these has made me stronger. The experience of learning in forgiveness, living in present, letting go angers and hatreds, practicing loving kindness are the greatest things in my life.
Thanks to the challenges and obstacles which have helped me to continue growing and to my spiritual friends who has been guided me to walk on the middle path....for all that, I has become who I am today.
There are so much loves and encouragements given to me....which I deeply appreciate! So, blessings to me to continue to walk on this new path!

Honey On Dali ~ Art Show 2015

This is an exhibition of  Dali Triangle's sketches, from Figueres, Port Lligat ( Cadaques)  and Pubol. It was a wonderful journey, experiencing Catalonia, learning about Salvador Dalí from his presence at Hotel Duran and within what has been called the Dali Triangle.  Señor Duran senior told me how Dalí  behaved when he dined in Restaurant Duran and which was his favourite food.

I am very pleased to have visited this three sites in Catalonia. The most intimately related to Salvador Dali’s life and works. With excitement I find some of his masterpieces in Dali Theatre Museum. In Cadaques and Portlligat I get a very intimate access to Dali's private life and in the mansion that he bought for his wife Gala, in Pubol.

I have learned a little about Dalí and Gala, and their unusual love story... And have so much more to learn!

And in the evening, at seven o'clock, on19th of June, the exhibition launched by Señor Luis Duran and Señor Marti Dacosta! We met many lovely people.....it was a fantastic evening which surrounded by sophisticated people. I was very happy to have met Urban Sketches from Barcelona, Girona and Figueres! I appreciate spending time together and the sharing!

Happy Thoughts

In this unusual period, with all uncertainty and not very good news surrounding everyday, I am still meeting nice people and receiving great positive energy!! I am thankful for all that. Today is my birthday on Chinese lunar calendar, Hehehehe, happy birthday to myself and happy dumplings festival to everyone!
My birthday wishes is to walk on the right path in this life time, to have good people around me to do the right things, to practice loving kindness together. Here are my new work in progress in aids of supporting Colors of Cambodia Charity art project. I am painting with lots of love and joys, radiating this great energy to the very kind and generous friends who love art, and believing in ART WILL SAFE THE WORLD!
To be able to continue giving art education to Cambodian students who have dreams in art and wanting to persuade their education, is the best contribution I ever do and give to the society. Of course, all these will only becoming true with all your supports. The world without art you can only see the history through writing....a country without art you see only some part of the culture.... individuals lives without art you see less beauty in life...Looking at a piece of art on the wall, we allowing our senses to become quiet for a moment ...

“I am an Artist, I talk Art”

“I am an Artist, I talk Art”
19th July 2020
Being interview, videoing and sitting in-front of a few cameras made me nervous and not able to talk properly. MY GOSH!!!! It took me a long while to accept the way I look and how I speak .
I would prefer to be at the back stage actually, but I also understand that I must learn to talk and share more about what I am doing as an artist and my involvement with the charity art project Colors of Cambodia ~ “art will safe the world”! My heartfelt thanks to April Chin , Andy Chow, Yuen James, Irene Wan, and Rekha Menon , for their dedication in the collaborationist “I am Artist, I talk Art”.

And, and and.... thousands times of thank you for the precious time, efforts, guidance and patience given to me throughout the whole interview sessions. I am grateful for the platform and promoting via this wonderful ways. So, here I am, presenting you a short video of me, interview by Andy Chow from Malaysia Advance Photographer Group (MAPG).
Enjoy .... and then oh.....Please LIKE, SHARE, SUBCRIBE the YouTube to help spreading the good word and love of arts.
